Interiors:
The house was built in 1983, and has three floors of living space, plus a loft over the garage. It is built around an open spiral staircase, constructed on-site, which is supported by a system of steel trusses and braces so that no central pole is necessary. Because of the open central core, it is possible to heat 90% of the living space with an efficient wood stove located on the bottom floor. Even in the harshest Nova Scotia winters, we rarely turn on the electric heat in any rooms other than the master bath and the mudroom--- which is where Maxx sleeps! Oh--- and we DO heat the guest rooms if we have winter company!
Main Floor: Entrance, dining room, living room, kitchen, mudroom, upstairs to loft over garage.
Bottom Floor: Family room, Peter's study
Top Floor: Master bedroom and bath, Cara's study, Blueberry Suite guest room
